Story Time

Read-aloud events are coordinated by our Executive Director, who is a credentialed reading specialist. Other Ambassadors, such as volunteers and interns, also read to children at story times.

Objectives

Our objectives are to increase interest in reading and to stimulate language skills during critical periods in childhood brain development.

Accountability

We will measure our objectives by periodically surveying families.

Resources

Families will be encouraged to obtain library cards and check out books.

Did You Know?

Reading to children, beginning in infancy, creates neural pathways for language development during critical windows. Audio books are not harmful, however they do not provide the necessary neural stimulation achieved through shared, in-person reading. The human voice is magic to your child’s ears, heart, and mind.
